Rodders For Christ is dedicated to reaching automotive enthusiasts for Christ at rod runs, car shows, cruise-ins and swap meets all around the country. Mike Oginsky is our Rodders For Christ Director. He and his wife Judy live just outside of the motor city, Detroit, Michigan.
Mike has been a part of the hot rod scene since 1993. He has also been a chaplain with Rodders For Christ® since the mid 90’s and was ordained through Team RFC® in 2005. Serving God through rodding is his passion. Mike has ministered at the Super Chevy Shows since the early 2000’s. He still preaches and assists at these shows in the North Central Region. The Woodward Dream Cruise is the largest and best cruise in Michigan; it is scheduled for the third Saturday in August, but cruisers start getting the pavement ready weeks in advance. In the Detroit area, there is a cruise-in, car show or something car related every day of the week during the summer months. On any given weekend, dozens of car shows are going on.
In the winter, Mike is getting ready for the indoor car shows. Detroit Autorama is one of the biggest in the country. Team RFC® usually has a booth and Judy is in charge of the Team RFC® table. Boy, oh boy, does she do a great job of organizing the chaplains, setting up schedules, running the table and ministering along with the chaplains to the people who stop by our booth. Mike cannot sit, especially at a car show, for too long. He goes out into the mission field – to the car show people, the vendors and the attendees – and ministers to them.
Throughout the country there are car shows, cruise-ins and other rodding events happening year round. If you have a heart to share the Gospel of Christ with the rodding community and would like information about becoming a chaplain for Team RFC® or to find out how you can partner with us in helping spread the love and hope we have in Jesus Christ, call the Team RFC® office at (480) 507-5323, Monday thru Friday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Arizona time.
