In the middle of the noise and movement, it’s easy to feel like what you’re doing doesn’t stand out, or even matter. But right there, in the chaos, God has placed you on purpose. The event is loud. The pace is relentless. People are focused, distracted, and constantly moving. And somewhere in the middle of it all, you might quietly wonder, “Am I really making a difference out here?”
1 Corinthians 7:17 speaks directly into that question: “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.”
That means you…right where you are.
God didn’t place you at the track by accident. He knew the environment. He knew the pace. He knew the kinds of people you would encounter. And He chose you to be there anyway. Not because you have to be perfect or have all the right words, but because you’re willing to show up.
Think about the moments that might seem small to you…offering a handshake, remembering someone’s name, listening when a driver or crew member needs to vent, or praying a simple, heartfelt prayer before a race. Those moments may feel ordinary, but they are anything but insignificant. In fact, they’re often where God is doing His deepest work.
You may not always see the results. You might not hear the full story of how a conversation impacted someone. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t matter. God is using your presence in ways that go beyond what you can measure.
And here’s the truth you need to hold onto: God isn’t asking you to be someone else out there. He’s not asking you to do more than He’s equipped you for. He’s simply asking you to be faithful, to be available, to be present, and to love people right where they are.
So when you start to question your impact, come back to this: You are called to this place, God assigned you to it… Not someday. Not somewhere else. Right here, right now.
What you’re doing matters. Your faithfulness matters. And God is working through you, even in the noise and the chaos.
Stay obedient to the call…God assigns…we don’t.
Today Matters
