Biography

Dave brings nearly 40 years of experience as a Construction Professional. As the President of Tri-State General Contractors, Dave has been the driving force behind the growth of the company. In a brief seven-year period Dave has spearheaded the company’s growth from its inception to a prominent respected retail and industrial builder. Licensed in 10 Western States and with corporate offices in California, Hawaii and New Mexico, Tri-State’s growth in the retail and industrial sector has been impressive.  “We have been blessed with the amazing customer base that we work with. Our successes with them have inspired our growth into new regions. Our approach is to be an honest and professional partner and to serve our customer’s needs wherever they need us. This “Can Do” attitude has facilitated our successful growth.” Dave started as a humble carpenter / tradesman right out of high school in the early 80’s and his tenacious pursuit of his construction opportunities from tradesman to President of his own business has been blessed by God.

Dave has been an avid racer and racing enthusiast his entire life. He built his first race car in his garage and started his career in Off Road Racing in 1986. Starting on a shoestring of a budget and doing 90% of all the work himself has helped Dave understand the complexities of making an Off-Road race car work and live for up to 1000 miles on the roughest terrain on the planet. Dave’s hard work and determination in racing has produced tangible success. With wins in the Famed Baja 1000 and Class Championships in the SCORE, Best in the Desert and in Ivan Stewart’s ProTruck Racing Series, it has been a long and successful time for Dave and his family in racing. In 2005 Dave’s son Dave Jr. began his Off-Road career at the age of 12 years old winning his first initial race in the Trophy Kart divisions of both the CORR and Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. While handling his own very active racing career Dave Sr’s new passion was helping manage his son Dave Jr’s forming career.  Fast forward to the current times Dave Sr. and Jr frequently team up to race in the large Off-Road events in the west like the Baja 500 and Baja 1000, along with the longest Off Road Race in America; Vegas to Reno. While Dave Jr. has become a Project Manager in our Construction Business, he has also become a force in Off-Road. Winning the 2020 Parker 425 event in an unlimited Buggy racing for the Stronghold Motorsports Team was a highlight in 2020. Dave Married his high school sweetheart Debbie over 38 years ago and God has blessed them with two children, the aforementioned Dave Mason Jr. and Heather Mason Krause. Heather and her husband Mike were recently blessed with the family’s first grandchild Devon Krause.

Dave’s introduction to RFC was in 2010, through Team RFC Chaplain Steve Hansen. Steve was a new Chaplain in a new ministry region for RFC, “Dirt Sports”.  Steve’s new ministry covered both desert racing and Off-Road Short Course in the Southwest and in Baja Mexico. The Mason’s attended early Chapel services with a small handful of believers in some very rugged venues.  Now seeing all the spiritual lives that Steve’s ministry has touched over the past 10 years and the growth and success of his ministry has been amazing. Team RFC has become an integral part of the community of Fans, Drivers, and Teams in the off-road community. “We spend so much time on the road at these events RFC has literally become our home church. We are sincerely grateful for all that RFC has done for the off-road community. Now with the opportunity to serve as an RFC board member, I look forward to using my business and racing experience to help the team guide RFC into the next 50 Years.”
