Every weekend, hundreds of thousands of drivers, crew members, mechanics, classic car enthusiasts, and racing families pack up and hit the road. They love what they do. But the racing life is demanding — long hours, high pressure, real danger, and months away from the people and places that anchor them.
Jesus followers in the motorsports community can’t always make it to their own church. Others are searching for something they can’t quite name. All of them deserve someone who shows up where they are.

Behind every number is a real person. A driver processing a bad wreck. A crew member far from family. A car show enthusiast searching for more than a great build. RFC chaplains show up for all of them, reflecting the love and care Jesus has for each one.

It was the inaugural event for a new racing series in Arizona, and it was already evident why RFC chaplains needed to be there.
Friday night saw two traumatic incidents. For one, Chaplain Ken made his way to the hospital with a driver who was treated and discharged with broken ribs. The driver returned to the track the next day, and Ken stayed close.
Saturday brought a third incident. A driver’s brakes failed at speed. He managed to come to a stop in the gravel trap just before hitting the safety net.
Chaplain Rob reached him moments later. The driver looked up and asked Rob if he had prayed with him earlier, pointing to one of the reasons RFC exists.
Rob said yes. The driver grabbed him in a bear hug so tight that Rob thought he might break in two. When the driver came back around for his next run, he ran over and hugged Rob a second time
