Jim Jack, Director
Gilbert, AZ
Biography
Jim Jack was saved at home (alone) on Friday February 5, 1988, during the running of the NHRA Winternationals. God literally called out to me: “You’re going to Racers For Christ,” that morning as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I responded by attending the RFC chapel service two days later in Pomona, CA, where I met Ken Owen, and unknowingly my career with RFC began. I was baptized a week later on February 14, 1988 by Ken Owen in Diamond Bar, CA.
In December 1989, my wife and I went to Israel (and Rome) with a small group of twenty believers from RFC for an eye-opening and inspirational week long tour of the Holy Land.
After two years of attending Calvary Chapel in West Covina, CA and Resurrection Fellowship Church (the RFC church) in San Dimas, CA, I answered another call from God and accepted the offer to become a chaplain in April 1991, and conducted my first chapel service in Sonoma, CA at a Good Guys event later that month.
In October of 1992, I accepted the offer to be an RFC Board Member. My job of twenty seven years as a warehouse manager came to an end in October 1993 because of a company closing. After sending out more than 300 resume’s and having only two interviews—the third interview ended with the President and HR guy of a company saying to me, “You should be in full-time ministry.”
Shocked, I contacted Ken Owen and told him what transpired that afternoon, and he promptly said, “I’ll put you to work in the RFC office as a full-time volunteer on January 1, 1994, and we’ll see what happens.” After a busy year of working in the office, and doing ministry out in the field with the IHBA drag boats and NHRA drag racing, Ken decided to put me on the payroll at a very modest salary on January 1, 1995. The rest is history.
My wife Linda and I moved both our home and the RFC office to Gilbert, Arizona in June 1996, a month after Ken Owen moved to Arizona, and RFC began its new frontier in the valley of the sun. Linda started working for RFC after the move, and nineteen years later here we are still loving the Lord and RFC more every day. For some reason, God keeps promoting me within the ranks of RFC.
I was the first person to be ordained through RFC in January 2001, after completing fifteen months worth of external studies through Moody Bible Institute.
I’m humbled and so full of gratitude to the Lord and to Ken Owen for bringing me along and nurturing my gifts that bring all the glory to God. What a joy to follow Christ wherever He may lead you!
