There’s not a day in the week that an RFC chaplain or ministry assistant isn’t serving somewhere – a race track, car show, hospital, home Bible study, wedding, funeral…the list goes on.

Here’s a sampling of recent “appearances” where an RFC team member served and had an impact:

• Asked to give a drivers’ meeting prayer…the track’s first time requesting!
• Handed out bottled water to drivers in the lanes and at the top of the track
• Officiated the celebration of life for a driver’s mother who’d passed
• Cooked for a crowd of drag boat racers
• Helped clean up an oil down
• Prayed with a woman at the track hospital who’d been burned
• Asked the blessing at a racing org’s national fundraising dinner
• Offered prayers of comfort for sickness & passing of loved ones, flooding, fire, troubled families
• Helped a family pack their RV so they could follow an ambulance to the hospital
• Shadowed a senior chaplain to “learn the ropes”
• Counseled a man struggling with doubt and temptation, another experiencing frustration and humiliation

All the above were in addition to “the usual” prayers and encouragement offered in the lanes and pits at racing events.

TeamRFC volunteers are much more than the pastors in motorsports – they’re valued members of a tight-knit community. They’re friends, confidants, sounding boards, and supporters. And they’re repeatedly thanked for their presence, wherever they serve.
