Steve Yaggy, Board Member – Director
Rochester, Minnesota
Biography
Steve was born in Iowa. Their family moved to Rochester, MN when he was only 5 years old and has been their family’s home ever since. He says, “I am very blessed to have grown up in a very strong Christian family. Mom and Dad had us boys involved in church activities for as far back as I can remember. Being involved in church activities was just a way of life for my whole family – Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, and uncles. Everyone was actively involved in their church in some way. It was a pretty great childhood.”
Steve credits his dad for much of his business sense. When Steve was only 12 he began a lawn business and ran it until high school. After high school he worked construction. He went to the University of Minnesota, working on a degree in farm management and crop production. While in college he worked for a large grain farmer. Eventually steve went on to own a Matco Tool franchise, drive a semi truck, and eventually start Yaggy Transportation. Today they have between 40 and 50 employees, and are still growing.
He and his wife Carol have been married for 30 years and have two children – Jordan and Kristin.
He has been involved in motorsports since high school. It all started with his 1968 Dodge Dart GTS. He only race it twice. He has raced go karts, snowmobiles, stock cars, dirt late models and is now involved in tractor pulling. Steve is also a volunteer chaplain with Team RFC®, serving in the West Central Region.
