Tami Bandimere, Director and Board Chair
Morrison, Colorado
Biography
As the third-generation President of Bandimere Speedway, Tami welcomes the opportunity to educate others about the exciting world of drag racing. Her grandparents, John Sr. and Frances Bandimere, founded the strip in 1958 and her father John Jr., ran the facility as President and General Manager until 1998, when her brother John III became General Manager. No stranger to the business of drag racing, Tami has been part of the family business since she was only nine years old when she began working part-time summer jobs at the facility. After a year at Pillsbury Baptist College in Owatonna, MN, and a year in the secretarial program at Barnes Business College in Denver, she returned to work part-time in the track offices while pursuing full-time jobs at a local oil company and then at the Manville Corporation. In 1986, she became employed full-time in the speedway’s offices and has enjoyed a variety of duties including receptionist, secretary, office manager, administrative assistant, media / PR coordinator, marketing assistant, and most recently, the coordinator of Bandimere’s highly successful race-themed reading program. “Race to Read”®, is now in its 22nd year and encourages reading in preschool and elementary-age children through a fun race theme, prizes and tickets to the races. Currently, the speedway hosts nearly 130 events during its April-October season including the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals powered by Mopar in July.
With 60 years in the same location, Bandimere Speedway continues to provide distinctive drag racing entertainment at its multi-use outdoor facility in the beautiful Colorado foothills as told in a recently release book called “Living It Loud” available through the speedway’s website, www.bandimere.com.
In addition to her involvement with Team RFC, Tami is also involved with the Jefferson County Public Library Foundation (Board Chair), WarrenTech Foundation (Board Chair), Cherry Hills Community Church Sunday School and vacation Bible school leader, Bandimere Speedway Ministries Advisory Committee Member, and Colorado Christian University IVY Women Impact Team.
