This month, I want to pause and say something that doesn’t get said enough:
What you do matters.
- You show up early.
- You stay late.
- You carry conversations, burdens, prayer requests, responsibilities, and sometimes stress that no one else sees.
Whether it’s at the track, a rodding event, or in quiet one-on-one moments, you are standing in places where light is needed. And sometimes that light costs you energy, comfort, and emotional strength. I was recently studying Psalm 121 and felt drawn to verse 5.
Psalm 121:5 reminds us of something deeply important: “The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.”
I want to remind you, that you are not just serving, you are being kept. The same God who called you into this ministry stands beside you while you serve in it. He does not send you into the heat alone. He becomes your shade in it.
There will be days when the sun feels intense; when conversations are heavy, when response feels small, when fatigue creeps in, when the spiritual climate feels dry. And you think, “why am I here?”
In those moments, remember: God doesn’t promise the sun will disappear. He promises something better. That He will become your shade. He places Himself between you and what would overwhelm you. It is a reminder that God’s promise is not always removal. It is presence…His presence.
God positions Himself at your “right hand”, the place of action, effort, and responsibility. He stands where you work. He stands where you lead. He stands where you engage. He guards your heart. He protects your calling. He sustains your strength.
You may not always see immediate fruit, but faithfulness is never wasted in the kingdom of God. Every handshake, every prayer, every quiet act of service is seen by the Lord who keeps you.
Thank you for your consistency. Thank you for your humility. Thank you for serving not for applause, but out of obedience. Keep showing up. Keep loving well. Keep standing firm.
And when the heat rises, rest in this truth: The Lord is your keeper. He is your shade.
Today Matters
